CVV Replacement help!
Hey guys just getting prepped to do some work. When you replaced your CVV did you have to remove the intake manifold to do all the hoses. I know a lot of people just replace to valve and don't have to take off the manifold. I'm going to do the hoses as well. Will I expect to take out the mani for the hoses?

You don have to remove the manifold, but having done it both ways, I find it much less frustrating to remove the manifold. If everything goes perfectly, it will be faster to do it with the manifold in situ, but i don't know of anyone that has actually not struggled mightily to reconnect the hoses.

If you are doing it for the first time, figure on 2 hrs to remove & 2 hrs to reinstall. Once you remove the strut brace, air intake, cabin filter housing & the ebox housing, everything is pretty accessible.

if your oil filter housing is leaking now would be the time to replace it as with the housing removed the valve replacement is very simple.

Don't take the intake off. Makes it way to difficult and opens you up to more issues. Removed the alt and you will have plenty of room to work. I've done a couple this way and it really makes it easier. Like the above person said, if you have not replaced the oil filter housing gasket do it while your in there and makes life much easier. Make sure you use the winter version parts and the updated oil dipstick tube.

They updated it so it doesn't freeze shut with sludge and destroy your engine.
Moisture accumulating in the engine oil separator; hose to oil dipstick guide tube; or the orifice in the dipstick guide
tube can freeze. When this occurs, depending on the position of the internal valve, it may either cause high crankcase
pressures (stuck closed) resulting in valve cover leakage and/or breakage, or cause an oil hydro-lock condition (stuck
open), which could result in engine damage.
If the vehicle is not equipped with the new insulated crankcase ventilation valve and hose, replace those parts
with the updated style and replace the dipstick guide tube with the part number from the list by model below.
