New M performance Exhaust…
 

installed on my 2013 GC. Got it yesterday. Love the new sound. Sorry no video. Don't know how. But here is a quick PIC.

There is a video someone else posted that makes it sound fantastic. Let me know how you like it and if you notice any differences in performance and gasoline. I'm definitely interested....

I also have a 640igc. How much louder is the performance vs our stock? Obnoxious? Some of the videos I've seen of it on 650's and F10's may not do it justice and sounds a but louder than I'd like. But I am looking for a little deeper bass in the exhaust and maybe about a 30% increase in volume.

Any effect at all on performance? And finally, how about sound from inside of car? Any droning? Reverb? Echo?

I purchased the exhaust $1250 + CA tax (the dealer will say it costs $1500+ but go to the BMW site and you will see the exhaust for $1250. So tell them that and they have to match that price) and was charged $450 for the install. The sound is fantastic. In sport mode it sounds great. In comfort it sounds good but due to lower revs the sound isn't as noticeable. It makes the car sound more like an M3. I love and think it is well worth the change. I didn't even keep the old exhaust and had my dealer to recycle it or whatever they do with used parts. The diameter if the tips are larger has a nice laser engraved M Performance on them.

As far as performance it's hard to tell but with less back pressure the engine breathes better so there should be some increase but specifically how much I haven idea. It sounds great so it therefore feels faster. Oh and the cold starts in the morning is awesome when your car is sitting in your garage. That's a great way to start any day.

Thank you. I see $1500 on BMWusa.com. Installed at my dealer is 1760. They will knock about $150 off I am told.

Well, I ordered the M Performance Exhaust. Should be at dealer tomorrow and will have installed at that time or Tuesday. A little nervous as I have no idea how it will sound. But, let's give it a whirl!

Wil attempt to take sound clip pre and post! No promises.

Oh you will love. Take my word for it. I am extremely picky about sounds and…well pretty much everything. Just ask my husband. :banghead:

Question - do the M chrome tips stick out further than the originals or did you have them adjust it? Also, do you know if it's mufflers and tips only, or is the center pipe included?

They are mufflers and tips and yes they stick out a little bit more than stock but not so much. You wouldn't think it is not stock. The installation by your BMW Tech will have some effect on the final appearance. The M log is engraved on the very top and you want both tips to be centered properly and stick out exactly evenly from left tip to right tip. Other than that it's no big deal. But remember you will have a human doing the installing. Mine was the top tech at the dealer because I AM SO DAMN PICKY!!!!!!!!!!!!! But they new not to disappoint me… and they didn't. :rofl:
