Issues with Dunlop run flat tires
The Dunlops are hard riding, noisy, fast wearing compromises. They only last 25k miles or so. Many get less use than that. They are rock steady at high speed though. Thanks for the video though, I have a small bulge on one tire, and I can it's a bad condition. it's time for a new set of the contis for me.
 Kudos to the guy making the video and going public with his experience.
BMWs should not even come off the assembly line with run flats, period.
This is not an appropriate tire for that type of performance car, and BMW should at least make it optional.
Most of us have a spare donut tire anyway and AAA is just a phone call away otherwise.
As for stealership practices most will either grossly overcharge, overinflate or invent problems, or shift blame on the customer while citing their professional authority (ie God speak.)
There are a few decent and fairly honest service managers out there, but count yourself fortunate to have found one.
I give them a wide berth as a rule. You can find other independent shops that actually have better knowledge and treat you fairly.
