Specs for importing 2011 X3 into US

I am moving to the US and am interested in taking my 2011 X3 with me. What are the US spec requirements or who can I ask?

The US diplomatic mission would be a place to start. It may be more economical to sell your '11 there and buy another one when you get here. Just a thought.:angel:

agreed, unless the OP has a diesel version which isn't currently available in NA

By looking at the prices around the world I think this is the preferred option, otherwise you are losing so much money on it. And, you save on transport and retrofitting.

If you're a diplomat or other official that has exemptions for vehicle regulations, start there.

Otherwise, for normal folks, it's not really feasible to import a vehicle into the US (unlike most countries). There's just so much regulatory red tape and "US-specific" safety requirements that it would be better to just purchase a BMW here. Which would be a pity, because you probably paid dearly for your X3 in Vietnam whereas they're dirt cheap (comparatively) here in the US.
