How can I get rid of these scuff marks. Help

Hi guys I just noticed these scuff marks on my 2 day old F10, I took it to dealer detail shop to get them buffed out as I could not feel if I swipe my finger on them. However they could not get rid of it and have suggested to take it to some body shop.
What are my options, do I have to get the full hood repainted???
Please advise.

I can't see the picture idk why but did you check out some of the car touch up paint kits and bav auto. My family owns a detail shop and we get most sctracthes to look like there's nothing there.

If your car is only 2 days old, have you dealer sent it out to a detailer and get it fix for free.

He has a detail shop. He did try to buff it but could not get rid of it. He thinks it may need some wet sanding and if unsuccessful then re paint.

I would try and avoid a repaint. I have had my rear bumper replaced and repainted. They have repainted it twice with someone from the paint supplier on hand to mix it the second time. They had three different samples. Came close the second time, but it shows in sunlight. I have a difficult colour to paint mind you - carbon black.

I have carbon black as well.

I am going to give it one more try. I may get one of by Dealer's recommendations to do it, or one of the top shops in Toronto. They guys who did it have painted my cars before and do a heck of a good job. They just can't seem to get this one right. I also understand the paints are water based and they can be more difficult to paint. Avoid a respray if you can.

You don't know how you got the blemishes? If it came that way, the dealer needs to correct it. Is it really noticeable? If not, I wouldn't repaint. A good body shop can buff out pretty serious scrapes. It would be good to see a picture. If you have a Mac, you need to click on the picture, go to file on the top menu bar and click on export. Then export it to pictures. Then you can upload by clicking on the attachment button. If you have a PC, I can't help you.

When I try to click "insert image" it asks me the "url" of image rather than letting me browse and upload my image.

This is on left front hood. I dont know how did I get them, it was not there and I did not notice when I picked up my car.
In worst case scenario if they have to repaint, will it be small patch or whole hood?

The image doesn't help much, but try any buffing, wet sanding, etc, before repainting the hood. Find a body shop or detailer in your area, and they should easily be able to correct a minor scuff.

That's the thing about black cars, they show every little scuff marks you normally wouldn't notice in a white or light colored car. It's a bit difficult to see from your picture but if the scuff marks are on the surface of the clear coat, an experienced detailer can wet sand it out and buff it back to a shine. Like another poster said, I would avoid any paintwork on a car this new. Not only will they repaint the hood but need to blend the side panels so the colors match evenly.

I had a few of these on my 535i when I picked it up. I chose not to have the dealer try and fix it and I fixed it myself. What you need to do is get a good quality polish with some level of cut (try autogeek.net). I used Meguiars Ultimate Polish with an orange pad. While this is a finishing polish, my goal was to avoid hazing or fading the black paint and I picked a light cut polish with a semi-abrasive pad in hopes that this combination would accomplish my goal. It took about 5 different tries, but I did get the marks out doing this.

Hope this helps. If this fails then find a professional detailer to fix this for you, but do not repaint the car for this.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will visit a detail shop tomorrow and see what they say. I have not done anything like this so I don't want to worsen it by attempting it myself.

I would not repaint those. Try a good detailer, polisher who knows what he is doing. I would bet he could pretty much get rid of that. Worth a try first.

I understand where you are coming from. However, my suggestion is literally foolproof hence why I suggested these products. The worse thing that will happen from using these products is the marks do not come out and you blew 15-20 bucks. These products will not damage your finish at all and are safe for a novice to use. Just make sure the paint is cool to the touch (do it in the shade on a cold and freshly washed car) and just start rubbing the polish over each mark individually. Get one done and then move onto the next one. You will give your arm a workout, but the paint will not get damaged.

OP, hate to tell you, but very soon, your new BMW will be full of small, light scratches. It's the nature of the paint, regardless of what people will tell you about the "rock hard" clearcoat. I've owned 5 German cars, a VW, a Mercedes, and 3 BMW's. They're all the same. They scratch if you just blow on them. I have had 3 Black Sapphires. With proper care and washing technique, the scratches will be linear and will follow the direction of the panel, very difficult to discern except in the brightest direct sun, or under certain mercury vapor-type lamps. It's going to happen, believe me. Do not wash, dry or wax your car with a circular motion.
