Winter Rust Proofing / Coating?

Hi Guys,

In preparation for Winter, I'm wondering if any of you guys do a "Rust Proofing" to your vehicles yearly? Here in Canada we have a pretty well known company called Krown.
The only catch is that they have to drill holes into various parts of your car (inner areas) to inject the lubricant / protectant. While they only do this once I'm sure you can gather why I'm not just going there immediately.

I'm wondering if anyone can chime in as to what they've done (or any fellow Canadians)?

Any information is appreciated.

Rust proofing on a modern car? Have you seen that they (BMW) actually dunk the bodies in corrosion protection during the build. I cannot imagine why you would need to ad any type of corrosion protection.

Sounds like snake oil to me.

Also, I believe corrosion protection is 12 years on a new BMW.

Fair Enough..

My VW had a 12 yr. warrenty on the body but that didn't stop it from rusting out after 8 years.

These guys only cover defects based around improper coatings from the factory or defects to their workmanship. It doesn't cover things like "Road Rash" or the most commons ways it forms.

I had some fenders rust out on my Jetta but that was because of some sound deadening foam (that collected Water) used by VW. They realized this was a defect in their workmanship and replaced it.

My wheel wells starting rusting out but they wouldn't replace those as they claimed it was "Road Rash". They get very slick when it comes to things like this.

I don't want to take any chances...

Had my D done by BMW specialist in Ottawa. NO HOLES.Top notch detail place too. He is very busy so you need to make appointment. Patrick Farray at www.fari.ca... hands down the best. This guy takes such pride in his work and he's good at it. More expensive but worth every cent
