Bimmerfest - BMW Forums - After the first 2000Km

Hi All,

Finally made it past the 2000km mark and just finished my break-in service.

Driving out from the dealership was an interesting experience..... in a good way. The service advisor told me to take it easy for a bit as things need to circulate properly and with the 2000km service, the clearing of the computer also means the car switches off break-n mode and becomes more direct and linear in power production and settings.

I must admit I was skeptical but after running the car for about 10km I decided to be a bit more aggressive with the throttle. Yup, more responsive and definitely seemed to rev more freely. The other things I noticed were the gear changes, even on the same setting seemed a bit sharper and I could hear air being sucked into the engine and this is something I never heard before. Its been about 5 days and still haven't had a chance to give her a full run which I intend to do this weekend and will see how much of the difference I can feel on the open road.
