iDrive - find nearest diesel station?
 

Using points of interest, I programmed this as one of my shortcuts. Has anyone else does this, and, if so, how reliable is the information? I posted a similar question in another forum and got some mixed opinions. Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately the maps and POI in all OEM NAV are several years out of date and unreliable.
In my area there was a Shell station that was removed years ago and it still showed up in both my D and ML Nav.

I rely on the Gasbuddy app on my android phone to give me up to date info on gas/diesel stations when I'm driving. The app also displays the price and address which I can then click on and activate the Google NAV app to guide me to the station closest to me.

I didn't realize you could save a POI search to a custom button... gonna have to do this. So far the info on my late 2011 iDrive has been very reliable.

I've used the feature on road trips out of state, and the info has been reliable.

Very unreliable in the Midwest and Southwest. Haven't used it on the East Coast
