M3 lime rock edition - good price?
 

saw this today while trolling - in the mkt for a new car.

Like the obnoxious color - have owned a couple of m3's in the past and have always appreciated them.

How in demand is this special edition - im guessing it's been sitting in their showroom for a while.

Their asking $83K and change. Thoughts on a fair price/offer?

well the exhaust is worth 4g over base, the carbon work, the exclusivity and the rest make it worth a little more. so what's this like 7 over a similarly equipped m3? yeah seems like inline with what you would expect.

personally, and they would kill me over at m3post.com, i can't see this car being as good in MT as it is with the DCT, and i don't think the lime rock comes with DCT. to me, that's a non-starter.

Two local dealerships have the LRP edition with a DCT, BMW of Rockville and BMW of Towson, both in Maryland. They are willing to deal some on the price.

Bought one today (BMW of Turnersville (NJ) with 6MT. Traded my 2010 M3 for it with DCT.

I wouldn't want "pull me over" orange for obvious reasons but like the car and package in general.

great lookin E92. i dont know why everyone was so down on the pirellis, i think they look sharp and perform very well. so what if they only last 7,000 miles!

Do you happen to know the vehicle/unit number of your car in the overall "LRP" production run?

No clue....I wish the factory had given individual numbers, but instead got away with one generic plate for 200 cars. Sort of disappointing.

Agreed... Frankly I would want to take the plate out if I could do it without damaging the center console. Otherwise looks great!

Got mine two weeks ago! Loving it so far.

Bought it at BMW of Turnersville, I went out of town so I could get a 6MT. Thanks to Ali and Kevin at Turnersville for their help.

On the way home, I took the long way back driving around Maryland's Eastern Shore. Beforehand while crossing the Delaware Bridge, I was passed by a guy in a yellow Porsche convertible who gave me a big smile and a HUGE thumbs up!

I like the silver wheels better than the black ones. The blacks ones look great when they are not mounted on a car, but they look unfinished whenever they are mounted...I guess it's because the tires are black and it just looks like a big black massive blob next to the car paint.

Man, I will kill for an M3 in this color...especially convertible!

I saw one today at Penske BMW with the DCT.

I agree about the "Pull me over" thing. I was over at Penske BMW today and spent some time looking at this new M3. I did like the car but driving this in the Los Angeles area or Orange County area is definitely a "Pull me over" signal to all the lonely officers just itchin to hand out a ticket these days.

I don't know about this color thing making a car more likely to be stopped by a police officer. Now the speed that the car can reach fairly quickly, that may attract their attention. I have had a Guards Red Boxster S for 11+ years and have never been stopped in it. I have never had a front plate on it. And, when appropriate, I drive it like it was meant to be driven.

My next car will be one of the orange shades BMW offers on the new M3/4. Even if I have to pay extra through the individual program. That Lime Rock edition is one good looking car. I report back if I am wrong..... and I may be! :thumbup:
