Can you purchase the maintenance plan if original 4/50,000 just expired?
Are you able to purchase the maintenance extension plan if your 4/50000 original coverage just expired on a 2008 x5?
Thanks! |
Probably not -- I think it has to be purchased by 45K miles -- but I may be wrong. The question is Why do you want the maintentance plan? The repair plan is the one to get IMHO -- and you can't get that either. There might be a third party plan you can get but those can be problematic. Good luck -- and next time plan ahead.

So, you don't know
That's a lot of commentary for not actually knowing the answer, but thanks anyway!

No. You cannot. They read the key.

Maybe. I've done this before, car was a few miles over. Had to pay an additional $50 if I recall. That was 4 years ago, so things may have changed. You need to ask some dealers, see what they say.

Spoke with local dealer
I spoke with the local dealer, they did confirm you are able to purchase the maintenance plan within a 'reasonable' amount of time after the factory plan expires. For example, my 7 month/7000 mile 'over' vehicle would be eligible.
Where the exact cutoff line is was a bit unclear. |
