Red service light, car on lift

Hello...I'm sure this was asked before but I am a first time owner to my car. What does it mean when the red service light appears and the pic shows a car on a lift?
I looked in the 'service-info' section to try to get a more detailed issue but again the only issue coming up is showing a car on a lift.

I have a 2007 328xi with about 70,000 on it. Just had it in for a full inspection first week of September...

Thank you!!!

I reseted mine with out taking it in because it's been running great. But is up to you to go that route.

Thanks!! Is there directions how to reset in the manual?

I'm finding I have to take this car in to the shop a ton more than any of my other cars! Every month there's a light...i just don't get it..is this frequency for bmws normal?

Which warnings have you had come up? Yes this cars can be very sensitive with their electronics.

Go on YouTube and search how to reset the light for your specific model i.e. E90, it will give you a list on reseting most of your stuff; that's how I learned to do mine. Very simple process to do it, I would walk you through it but my model is an 06 e60.

You are unwise to ignore a red warning.

Immediately read codes to diagnose.

It is unwise to ignore unusual warnings. However, this warning goes off at a predetermined interval. If your car is running fine, dont waste the time and money. If your brake warning light comes on, then take it in.

I wouldn't ignore any warning without first determing why it's being displayed. Doubly so if the warning is red.
