Just powdercoated my wheels

So I'm a big fan of stock wheels, but mine were flaking and looked really bad. Considered getting some M6 wheels for my ride, but then decided I didn't like the look all that much on an e39.
So... Dis-mount tires, sand-blasted and powdercoated rims, re-mount and balance tires: Under $300 I'm pleased :) |
I'm planning to do same with mine. My 540i is black so I'm thinking about anthracite. That price will consume the last of my bonus :-)

Nice.. Now H&R springs and tint...

I was thinking of blacking out my 32's as well. But after seeing this Im not too crazy about how the wheel looks blacker than the tire.

Tire shine.

And for anyone on the west coast, check with your local Les Schwab dealer. They have a service (I believe in Oregon) where they send rims for blasting and powder coating. I had them do the stock rims on my 1986 528e, and they look fantastic. I just had them use their standard silver, and it's almost identical to the original color - maybe a little brighter. Cost was $50 per rim.
