Transmission Problem
 

I have a 2005 545, and yesterday while sitting still in a parking lot, a message came on that siad that the trans. will shift from park to drive without depressing the brake. I checked and found that it was true. I then shut the engine off and it would not restart. I have had it towed to the shop, has anyone else experienced a similar problem. Appreciate any help I can get.

Read through. OP in this thread obtained relief from a sticky solenoid in the transmission by changing the trans fluid, but I don't remember him ever having a problem starting.

Also forgot to ask you to check your battery, as many system gremlins can appear when system voltage is low. A new battery will likely solve both starting and transmission warning.
