Trading my 22"s for 18" M3 wheels?
Hey guys I recently bought my car and it came with 22" HRE wheels. I am not into 22" wheels and they make the car ride a little rough.. especially because I have the sport package.. Anyway, I put them on CL saying I would trade for stock.. someone just called me and said he would trade me 2005 M3 wheels with good rubber on rear and he will buy two new matching tires for front.. I told him I have the sport package that came with 19" and he said it's no problem you just put some slightly larger tires and it fills the gap or something.. I don't know if brakes or anything would be a problem going down to 18".. what would you guys do? Do 18" look funny on these cars? Any thoughts would be appreciated thanks!

put the right wheels on the car. which 22's do you have?? Maybe Im int??
|
Please don't. E46 M3 wheels would look absolutely terrible. I can't imagine the tires are the right circumference any way.
Please post pictures of your HRE's. |
Definitely don't put e46 wheels on a e65/e66. I have both cars and it would look terrible. Style 95 and Style 231 19" OEM wheels look good IMHO. 20" sport wheels are nice too. Finally, can't go wrong with 128's either.

Should be a bigger pic

Whoever put those on is an idiot. Especially considering the fact that they're stupidly expensive. HRE makes much better wheels.
And as others said, do NOT put 18's on, they will look terrible. Just sell these and get some stock 20's or 21's |
I agree with everyone on this.. Don't do it
|
Agreed with everyone else, the M3 wheels will look really off on your car. Just try to sell the HRE's and get something smaller like 19" Vossens

I liked those wheels. I had a set once as sold them.
|
I love the style 32's on anything, great looking wheels. as far as the Hre's bro best bet is to put those on ebay and let the bidding talk. Im sure you can buy a nice set of factory 19's with new tires for around 1500.
|
Thanks man , jeez I had 7 PM's about this wheels and none returned after i pm them the price lol , I am asking too much ? , I mean $1700 for this mint set of wheels and tires freshly balanced , I see lots a crap on eBay for the same price ? Can't give it away ya know :(
|
1700 isnt unreasonable, prob 1500 they would go quick. Put them on ebay bro, someone may just be looking for them.
|
Cool yah might try eBay , and local Craigslist .
|
I am interested in those wheels if you would want to trade.. I am just wondering if I should hold out to 19"s vs your 20"s as I am going more for ride comfort than anything.
