2005 e60 525i air intake duct part number
 

Hi everyone

My very first post :)

Bought used and found that air intake duct(?) attached to airbox and facing toward the grill got fallen off. Tried to re-attach it but seemed it got deformed.
Searched realoem.com but no success.

Can someone advise the link or the part no.

By the way, can I do away with it for the time being without hurting the engine.

You are probably referring to number 14 in the link below.
It's called an intake muffler or silencer and is part of the fuel
preparation system.

Driving without it will not hurt anything. Very minute
difference in the way the air is drawn in without it. You
won't even notice it's not there.

I thought I had to replace part #13 which got deformed but now it turned out that I am also missing part #14. It was found nowhere under the hood.
Maybe poor repair from a previous accident.
