ED and Lease Questions
 

Sorry if these are somewhat basic, I had to cancel my last ED because of the Icelandic volcano thing. Just wanted to confirm a few concepts:

1. Are most board dealers still cool w/ $500 over ED invoice?

2. For leases, MSRP is US, rt?

3. Residuals, HC, loyalty, drive app all apply?

4. Still takes 8-10 wks for West coast re-delivery? Is one pmt waived?

5. Is Lufthansa still 2 for 1?

Thanx, I tried search, but most of the answers were from back when I was planning before, so wanted to see if it had changed.

1. Depends upon the model. On the 640GC I went $1,500.00 over ED invoice.
2. Yes
3. Yes, but not USAA
4. Ours took two months, Sept 19th - Nov 19th to Texas, with Hurricane thrown in.
5. No, it's more like 5% - 10% off of their lowest price now. The 2 for 1 was on their highest priced tickets, so it works out. We flew BA.

True, but BMWNA makes the 2nd lease payment for you while the car is on the water. However, there is no such thing as a free lunch; BMW raises the MF by .0003 on ED leases to compensate for the "free" second payment.

Explain #2. If you lease on ED the price is based on US MSRP? So you don't get the 7% savings that you get when you buy?

For the purpose of calculating the residual value, US MSRP is used. Not your sale price.

This is exactly right. You negotiate the sale price even before you negotiate a lease... so your payment and such will all be based on the sale price not MSRP. The residual becomes a percentage of the US MSRP of your optioned out car... which means that for $500-$1000 over invoice you can be 10-11% down on US MSRP. Mine equated to about 11% off US MSRP and I put max MSD's on it... I also dropped a small down payment in there to get my payment down a bit further... kept my MSD's manageable :)
