20" Snow tires for the M5
 

Anyone using any in staggered setup?

Ive been searching for a while now. Doesnt seem to be any options for a 20 inch winter tire. Hopefully there will be soon. Please update thread if you find one.

I'm running these on my m6 stock 20's. 255 front and 285 rear but you can get 275 rears too.

Front: 255/40/20
Rear: 275/40/20
Rear : 285/35/20

Not sure if the snow is getting down there to CT, but let us know how it does in 2" deep snow. I need to "read" it to believe it. Would expect they would be just fine in dry cold pavement, perhaps a dusting, but anything more than that and with that setup I would be afraid of having you behind me with more significant snow even if you are a great driver.

Using Dunlap SP Winter Sport 265/35-20 all around on 2013 M5. Backs are stretched a bit but works well. Did the same thing on my e60 M5 with Blizzaks in 19" for 4 winters and worked very well as long as snow wasn't too deep. You want narrowest tire you can for snow.

Mine have worked well so far and I've been on ice and about 1 inch of snow/sleet.

First let me introduce myself. I'm from Germany so please forgive my rough english. Different to the USA we have to have winter tires during the winter period on our cars, on some streets (especially in Austria) additonal with snow chains. Due to this it's nearly unimpossible to have tires with the dimension 255/285 on your M5 cause there are no snow chains for 285/35/20 (or 295/30/20) available.

Here we use the 408M with 255/40/19 (Pirelli Sottozero normally on it) or 409M (255/35/20). The 408M with 255/40/19 is perfect for snow more >2" and you can use snow chains. The handling is softer and you can see the dsc like a disco-lamp during acceleration on a dry street with 120 mp/h. Remember, Germany is the country where you are angry that there is a speed limiter in the car. Tires for more than 240 km/h (150 mp/h) are unavailable. The 409M with 255/35/20 is much more better to handle the car in a sportive way on dry streets and you can use them with W-tires (>150 mp/h) - for example Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D or Nokian WR A3 (an awful tire) but you can not use snow chains. Test results showed that the 255/40/19 and the 255/35/20 are close together in deep snow (deep snow means more than a trifle of 2"), the 285/35/20 or 295/30/20 were miles away.
