What model of BMW is this
Came across this picture
http://cdn2.worldcarfans.co/2009/4/large/155801.jpg What kind of bmw is this? Absolutely beautiful in my opinion |
Not sure, but your right it is pretty.

Looks like heavily modified detroit iron to me. The lines remind me of a GM F Body. Something like a Firebird convertible. If not than your user name suggests a Dodge or Plymouth.
The front clip is entirely wrong for a BMW. |
1969 BMW 2800 Spicup (from Google image search, http://images.google.com/imghp?hl=en)

Pretty, if not the least BMW-like for the time. What a terrific example of the style sensibilities of its era, though--the Space Age/Mod vibe is really goin' on! If I saw it at a concours I would half-expect someone in a velvet Nehru jacket and Beatle boots to come running up, jump in and drive off with a cry of "Thunderbirds are go!" :)

This view has obvious Bertone style cues. http://www.supercars.net/Pics?v=y&s=...800Spicup1.jpg Bertone Logo visible in the Targa bar on this one: http://www.supercars.net/Pics?viewPi...=2800%20Spicup |
Interesting but.....
One ugly car! The front view is the nicest. |
Wow. Never seen a BMW that...ugly.
|
That years. That design definitely belong to America. The grills look like they are sticked to the front.
IMO, its someone swapped the bmw engine into a american muscle body. Then trying to show some appreciation to the company by convert it into BMW with logo and grills |

That green in the interior is a bit much, but I like a lot of other things about this car.
Autoblog had a great series of photos of it a year ago: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/1969-...picup-concept/ |
