Problem with iPod Classic & audiobooks on 2013 X3
When I connect my iPod Classic to the USB connection in the armrest (via the standard white iPod cable), the mp3 files work, no problems with sound or viewing album art.
But, when I play Audible audiobooks sometimes the artwork appears, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes the file plays for 10 minutes and more often it plays for about 30 seconds to one minute before I have to push the iDrive button to restart where it disconnected. Any suggestions? I can't change the file type - is it a cable issue? Since I travel a lot and regularly listen to audiobooks from Audible, having to restart the playback every minute or two is getting aggravating. Thanks.:)

Is it an X35i or an X28i? Please also let me/us know if your car came with a cable or not when it was delivered to you.
You may need a "Y connector cable (unless you've been using one, in which case I don't know).
It may be that your new car may not support the iPod Classic, though, in my opinion, it should. It may well be a BMW issue of failing to support what I think it should, though others on this site disagree with me.
However, in fairness, it cannot possibly support every device by every manufacturer.
If you're not using a Y-connector cable, try one and see if the problem persists.
Of course connect the USB and the Aux connections in trying it.

Thanks for the reply. It is an x28i and it did not come with a cable, I asked the sales person and he didn't know what I was talking about. I will try the Y cable, I saw a few on sale on Amazon.
