Three consecutive audible beeps
I have a 2005 X5. Lately while driving Ive been hearing 3 beeps, about a half second between each. I see no warning indication anywhere, no engine trouble, no nothing. Ive looked in owner's manual without success- does anyone know what this might be? Thanks!

Ditto...your HOUR MEMO is on. Since you have a 2005...you do NOT have i-Drive....but we also don't know if you have the MID or the Nav system installed.
Either way...the HOUR MEMO can be turned off/on thru the MID or Nav monitor: (if you have the MID....the HOUR MEMO symbol will be illuminated to the right of the TIME displayed in the MID...to turn the MEMO off...press the soft key button below the word OFF on the MID..the word should change to ON and the symbol will disappear to indicate that the HOUR MEMO is not initiated...which you can also see in the image below) http://bimmerboard.com/members/q/ori...o%20Symbol.jpg (if you have the Nav set-up...then go in under SETTINGS to turn the HOUR MEMO off) http://bimmerboard.com/members/q/ori...%20Monitor.jpg FYI for those who don't know what the HOUR MEMO is...it is a reminder (for Europeans) to turn their radios on 15 seconds before the hour...so that they can get traffic/news updates. For us Americans...it's just a reminder that another hour of our lives have just clicked by. :D |
