custom audio in 2002 325i
FIRST POST! So ive been wanting to pimp out my car stereo system. everything is stock, i bought this car in pristine condition and ive got some extra money left over so i wanna get something dope in the dash. i went into best buy and they said i could only use single DIN stereos and that a motorized flip out screen wouldnt work because of the shape of the dash(ac vents stick out above radio). just wondering what you guys are using or if theres any ways around this. looking for info on what you guys have in your rides as well as suggestions. thanks fellahs

Welcome to the 'Fest. Find your way to the WIKI and read up on the section that describes the system in your car. It's probably not what you think it is and upgrading it requires this knowledge.
I kept my factory nav and replaced the amp and speakers and added a sub. Others have done a double-din wide-screen head unit and kept the factory amp and speakers. |
My understanding was that i couldnt put a double din unit in... If i could i definitely would

No, up top where it says e46 Wiki

^^^ this. If I said "a WIKI" you'd go away from this site. When I say "the WIKI" you stay right here. :)

I replaced the entire HK system. Was crappy IMO. I would have a pro do it, since running the wires can be a bitch.

The most important part in my experience is properly installing the front speakers. This was the most involved step in my upgrade project.
