CF Mirror Caps question...

Has anyone here purchased and installed the BMW CF mirror caps? If so, how are they secured to the mirror? Is it just a cover that snaps over the existing mirror? Or is it a actual housing that is installed in place of the existing housing?

Silly question: If it's a snap-on cap then is that not pleading for someone to steal them?

They're not snap on, need to pop off mirror, remove old covers. Screws are provided for CF covers.
