e39 radio flat pin plug not working
I have a radio which has died I am having trouble findin a replacemet without paying a fortune. I can get a round pin radio easy as. Is there a patch cable to change between the 2 stlyes or do I need to pay a kings ransom for a flat pin radio.
Yes, for some inexplicable reason, the flat pin audio units are much more highly priced for 2nd hand units. I don't think there's a cable to allow a flat pin to work in a round pin style connector and vice versa.
My vote is to put in a good quality double DIN head unit which will also have current technologies like iPod control, Bluetooth and a hands free mobile car kit etc. Here's mine for instance -
Upgrade the cabin speakers to gain an immediate much improved audio performance level as well and later (if needs be), once funds allow, you can add small amplifiers and a subwoofer to improve quality and performance again!
Thanks for the avice I will look at upgrading yours looks fantastic would like mine to look like that thanks
Nip over to BMW5.co.uk and I have a post up about a double DIN fitting kit which doesn't require the airbox to be modified - http://forum.bmw5.co.uk/topic/41137-...-not-required/
Please read it all as the one above is discontinued, but the Autoleads one is available (when in stock) - theres a link to some pictures in that thread as well.
