Need Feedback, Please (Haters welcome)

Okay - I'm getting rid of the OEM's 18" on my 2011 550 ix black sapphire metallic (finally).

I'd like to invest a little and put the HRE S101 19'' wheels on (see picture).

Thoughts? Comments? Cool? Stupid?

Thanks!

Or these . . . .

The S101s are around $1,400.00 - $2,300.00 a piece.

So, maybe for the Ferrari.

What about the TSW Nuremberg or the Croft Gunmetal?

I think it would look nice, very light looking. Great feature is that the inner surface behind the spokes looks to be already black, same color after the brake dust builds up.

I like them, although I think the exposed connector look is too 80's, honestly.

I don't like dark wheels in general because I think they make cars look cheap - but those are the best ones I've seen. If I got a car with those I would not replace them immediately :D

I'd prefer non black spokes. The inside could be black- which helps with brake dust camouflage. I'm looking into the bbs rx-r wheels ~$700/ 20" wheel. (you can find videos of them on YouTube in action. The come in black too. ) those tsw wheels are tempting.

2013 550i Msport + BBS RX-R?

Just got my fresh, new 550i Msport in 6MT. I'd prefer a different look for the wheels, and might as well change out to non-runflats while they're all still new.

I *think* I've read all the forum entries, so I'll just confess ignorance. I must be missing something obvious:

I searched all of Tirerack.com and sent them an e-mail, to which I received a gracious reply. The only wheels they sell for my car, from their entire selection, is the BBS RX-R. Can that be true? I want to preserve the sizes that came with the car, and that means 19x8.5 front and 19x9 rears -- and no other manufacturer makes 19x9 wheels (every other staggered combination seems to be 19x9.5)

Is this right? Don't lots of you replace your F10 550i Msport wheels? What are you using? What are the implications of changing sizes?

Tires: there seems to be lots of consensus on the forums for Michelin Pilot Super Sport.

Set me straight; I'm ready to make my new car even better.

(I've posted on this thread, as it's the only one with a match for BBS RX-R.)

You know it's not "investing" when you buy something thats guaranteed to depreciate right?

You know that for about the same price, depending on how you configure the S101's, you can get the P101's which are lighter monoblock?

Especially if you went with the titanium hardware.

Regardless, they look nice, I'm just not a fan of 3 piece.

You guys realize that the OP's in this thread are about 10 months old..

Researcher5 10-11-2013 06:01 AM

thanks + protocol?

Needsdecaf -- thanks -- I concur.

I was appending to the *only* F10 thread that discussed BBS RX-R, which seems to be the *only* replacement wheels for a car that I thought was reasonably common (2013 550i Msport).

I'm happy to start a new thread (with a less onerous subject/title), if you think that's a better protocol to follow.

Thanks - Researcher5

There are a great many wheels that will work on the F10. That doesn't mean that they are listed on the various websites that sell wheels, you often have to talk directly to the various companies to see what fitments they offer.
