cruise control problem
The c.c. in my 1998 328i won't kick in until the car is thoroughly warmed up. Now that it's getting cold that can be 15-30 minutes. After about 10-15 minutes of driving it will engage but then it lets go soon afterward. Any idea's on what is causing this and how to fix it? Any help would be much appreciated!
Well, your cruise control should engage regardless of temp, but if your car takes 15-30 minutes to warm up (even in Michigan in December), your thermostat is stuck open and needs to be replaced. It should only take about 10 minutes for the temp needle to reach 12 o'clock.
I'm guessing that your throttle cables are sticking a little bit when it's cold.
