Z4 Launch Control
 

In fully reading the owners manual of my 2009 35i, this car has Launch Control. I always read about it in Road and Track and other mags for the super cars. I was very impressed the 35i Z has this feature. Who has used this feature on there cars? How impressive/un-beleiveable was the launch? Any experiences with this are appreciated.

I have only watched YouTube videos of launch control and will so this in my 13 is when I get to the homestead speedway on one if their test & tune nights - maybe sometime in January or February. Plan to do two run - one without LC, one with - whenever it happens I will be certain to share.

I cannot beleive that no one on this forum has ever used the LC on the Z. As I just got my car in Oct, I plan to give it a try, when I find a safe place to launch it. Let me know how your LC experience goes, I will be very interested.

Used it a few times. Car goes like a bat out of hell.

I would say - ABSO**%*%*INGLUTELY!! The only reason I let off the gas was the 2-lanes and the trucks... never know if someone is going to pop out in front from between the trucks... that would have been a bad day...

I am so ready to put the Z to the launch test. I took customers to the BMW Performance Center and got to beat on the Z4, 650i, 750 IL, MX5, M3, 128 and M5 BUT never was allowed to launch a car.

Does anyone know if this feature is available with the Automatic transmission with Steptronic? Or is it only with the DCT?

According to the manual, the Launch control is only available with the DCT transmission.
