base, Xline or Sportline on Alpine White?
 

So which line do you think looks better on the Alpine White, can't decide but leaning toward the X or Sportline since the wheels are 18 inch but heard it's a rougher ride?...add servotronic? any advice with help, thanks!

That's personal taste, but I think the Sport Line gives you the most black/white contrast which looks great, plus you get the nice supportive sport seats. I have the 18 inch wheels. The ride is not harsh- it's firm and solid.

The base seats are not well bolstered or supportive. Steering will be a little crisper and require less effort with 18s. Visit your dealer and test drive both.

XLine - Silver/Alum exterior trim, wood or copper interior bits, tobacco interior

Sport - gloss black exterior trim, gloss black or alum (+$500) interior trim, sport steering wheel and seats, coral red interior

What's most important to you, as the options I've listed are exclusive to each line. Also the 18" wheels are different on the two lines as you know.

I opted for the sport, as the red interior, sport wheel and seats were must haves for me, plus I like the OEM gunmetal wheel that comes with the sport model. I was also considering the Msport, but the paddle shifter issue and lack of A/S tires (until now) were deal-breakers for me. Perfectly happy w/Sport as I wanted LeMans blue, an exclusive color on Msport, while the wife wanted Alpine White regardless, so no point in wasting an extra $1K.

You need to test drive cars w/wo the Assisted Steering to determine which one you like best, as its totally subjective. I'm perfectly content w/o the servo.

Interesting, so you can now order all seasons with the M sport package? I didn't see it in the configurator, must try it again.

Do you know what type of all seasons come with that?

I heard the addition of a/s tires as a no cost option was effective as of dec12'. I would assume the tires with 18" wheels would be the pirellis, same as the sport. Not sure about the 19's or if a/s is even an option

Where is the gloss black trim on the sport line? Its not around the window frames is it? I thought that is the shadowline trim on the m sport package...

You will get Pirelli or Continental all-seasons. 18s will be square 225/45s, not staggered. No all-season option for 19s.

Sport line.....M sport???

I'm referring to the exterior trim on the bottom portion of the car, side skirts, rear valence, etc. Anywhere that you'd see the silver trim on x-line would be gloss blk on the sport.

Thanks, good info. Are the 18" non-staggered wheels the M Sport style, or the Sport style?

Only 1 more month until I place the order...

M Sport package with all-season tires get 225/45/18 all around, but wheels are still the M Sport style 355 wheels.

I wonder if the wheels are staggered too (as they are with the regular summer setup) but the tires aren't, or if BMW installs the same wheels front and back.
