Car will not accelerate
After having some work done to my e38 it will not pick up speed and accelerate. I'm wondering if it was old gas that made the catalytic converter go bad. I would appreciate any and all advice.

When the converter goes bad it blocks exhaust gases. Go by the exhaust pipe and feel the pressure, if you don't feel anything or not much coming out then it's clogged. If the flow is powerful, then it's time for reading the codes

re:
What was the work you had done ?
|
If the car was ok before the work was done, then something has almost cerainly been disturbed, or not re-connected, electrical or not. Check this out before assuming something else is at fault.

I had the blower motor replaced. And the car sat idle for 2 months. Thus my thoughts about the converter. I just want to get it back on the road again.
|
That wouldn't have anything to do with it. Gas in a tank will still be fine after 2 months and certainly not enough to clog your cat.

The blower motor is a very big job requiring a lot of dismantling-there's a speeded up youtube vid of it somewhere. Something has been missed

I guess a plug half out or similar in the area the work was done. No easy way to find it that I know - sorry..
