Tire Size?
 

OK I am getting new tires on my 2003 330i. I a m paying about 598 for tires,and Shipping, tax and installation another 200.00. I am getting Sumitomo HTR III. I was told that this car can only have a Y rating. But I see the last tires were a W rating. What is the deal? Can they only have a Y rating. They are OEM staggered. And I cant believe they will only get about up to 30,000. Please anyone that has knowledge of this please chim in!!! :confused:

Don`t worry about it, your car has a 128 mph limiter, so tire rating really means very little.

lol OK but I still want to know? even if it means very little why the rating?

I have Sumitomo HTR Z3's. I think I paid about $105 each from tirerack about 2.5 years ago and had my local Indy mount and balance for about $100. You should look for better pricing.

BTW, the tires are great in warm weather, good on wet roads, but turn into hockey picks when its in the low twenties, and have NO GRIP WHATSOEVER on snow.

Thank for the info. That is the place i am getting the tires at. Fronts were one price: the backs were more . With shipping they are 645.00. Then big O is installing them. They are stagered tires from BMW That way.
