2006 550i Matte Black Vinyl Wrap

Hi guys this is my first post in the e60 forum as i usually stay in the e65/66 forum, but i am going to try a project out. I just ordered some matte black vinyl and will be wrapping my 2006 550i in it. I will be providing pictures along the way so hopefully i can make it a sort of DIY.
Wish me luck :)

Wash & clay bar it. Then it's just some very dedicated hours with heat gun. I'm sure it will come out great - just take your time and don't rush it - also helps if you have a person to help you apply sheets if vinyl, but not necessary.

Good Luck,
Two months ago I wanted to do it in matt silver but never got the chance to do it, let us know how your project goes and provide some info and pics if you can :) I might try it one day.

Can't wait to post pics to show some progress.....now if only the FedEx guys could speed it up lol. By the way im really looking to put your wheels on my car. Are those 19's or 20's?

If your doing it in parts I'd suggest a car cover or garaged otherwise you will be wrapping over dirt / dust / etc. or having to wash it every day

Love to see pics on this when you're done. Thought about doing something crazy with mine as well someday (color wise).

any updates?

Adnan23 01-27-2013 02:52 PM

Alright guys sorry for the long delay but i got some updates......I will provide tips on each piece of the car that needs to be wrapped. Please be aware that i am not a professional and that this was my first time wrapping anything. Below are pics of the tools i used along with before pics of the car. The total cost for me to wrap this car including tools was just under $200 :D

Can you provide the site from where you had bought the vinyl?

updates?

Like others have said, wash, clay bar it. I would go a step further and wipe the entire car down with a 50-50 mix of distilled water and rubbing alcohol to be sure you remove any contaminants - including wax/polish residue.
