If you plug an iPod into your USB slot via the Apple white cable, do you get artist/song/album art on your dash display screen?

You will also get album art if you play mp3s stored on a usb thumbdrive plugged in at the center console.

Although this may only work if the album art is saved onto the mp3 file itself. For all my mp3s, I saved the album art into the id3 tags using mediamonkey.

AFAIK... Album Art works if saved separately in the USB stick; no need to be embedded to the MP3. I just tried it and it works.

I'm using the same CIC software as the latest F30.

Cool, nice to know. Although it would seem much easier to put it onto the file itself. Then you don't have to remember to copy 2 sets of files, and any media player on a computer, smart phone, or the Bmw can then display the appropriate album art.

I remember when embedding the album art that mediamonkey does a pretty good job of automatically finding the right album art off the internet about 90% of the time. The rest you can embed manually.

Your title says No Tech/Nav... that's the confusion.

The difference between tech and no tech.

Truncated 4:3 Display = No combox = No album art.

No, I have album art, as well as the truncated non-nav 4:3 display.

I do have BMW assist though. I think I read somewhere that if you don't have BMW assist, you won't get album art.
