e36 rear springs
Hello one and all new to this so bear with me plz,i have a 318is with broken rear springs i suspect that the vehicle may have been lowerd but not sure so how can i tell what the springs are i have spoken to local dealer and they are as helpful as a chocolate fire guard. So any 1 got any ideas

Not exactly sure what you are asking but if the springs are broken they are likely OEM since this seems to be common with these cars. There are dozens of replacement options depending on what you want.

I am trying to work out if they are original bmw springs correct for the car or if bmw do a genuine lowerd spring my spring has 3 blue paint marks the dealer tells me this doesnt mean anything

chances are, if they are broken, they are OEM BMW springs original to the car.
You can buy them from the dealer, and spend tons of money, or shop around online, and buy a set of aftermarket springs. If you are looking for the OEM ride hight, and have no interest in lowering the car, try your local pick'n'pull junkyard to buy a used, but good, set. |
Being able to I.D. the spring if it was a lowering spring would be fairly difficult. TheFinanceGuy is right. Try to junk yard or look for all four aftermarket springs.
