1990 535i door lock swap
 

I am in the middle of swapping driver doors (paper lady backed into my 535) I just want to swap the door lock. Should be easy but can't seem to see the clasp that holds it in. Do I need to take out the electric locking device?

And yes you need to remove the door lock actuator. It's Easy!

FWIW...

I used this DIY for the exact same problem, and it's spot on.

As I have been refered to at times as a "dumb truck driver", I was still able to get through this no problem.

Thanks for the tip. It hit a low of zero here in michigan, even though I have a heater in the garage I am waiting for a few degrees higher to finish the job.
