New tires
Looking for advise on what brand of tires to buy.What does BMW recommend for the 745li?

go to tire rack.com.... mine came with pirellis i believe.. put on michelins but going back to pirellis...

yokohama s-drives are good and price is not too bad

I do believe there was a topic on here not too long ago but you will have to search for it.

if you're running staggered wheels (wider in the back), it's not going to matter cuz youre going change them once per year...go to tirerack and buy some hankooks for 200$/each. if you live somewhere that snows, that changes things.

If money isn't a concern, get the Michelin Pilot Super Sport.
If it is, get either the Continental DW (DWS if you drive in snow) or the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo. |
For performance Mich Pilot Sport is the best tire, the compund is softer and the grip better. I used them on my turbo hayabusa 602hp to the ground, 7.11.4 @ 206.1. The rear was change twice in 4 events (yes street tires, its a street class).
The P-zero will give you more miles over time but the tire is louder due to harder compound. Contential is a all season tire witha good rating but too extreme hard drives or wet then you will be at the tire limits. |
