Upgraded halogen headlights to HID?

Has anyone upgraded their halogen headlights to after market HID's?

If so, what are you experiences, what brand did you use and ave you had any problems?

The inside headlight is a standard halogen bulb. I noticed that it turned on with my factory HID projector headlights. Why??

A900ss, Do they still have standard halogens in the UK? Is it housed in a projector lens?

BigDeep1, The inside halogen lights are cornering lights.

We have halogens in a projector as standard in the UK and HID'S as a cost option.

Mine is a company car so just standard halogens for me. :cry:

I intsalled a rebased HID kit with philips bulbs in one of my car with halogen projector lense in the pass. The beam pattern is a bit wider on a halogen projector and its not as bright as the oem hid, but still much better than the halogen.

There are many vehicles (including BMW) that have used halogen bulbs in projectors.

Interesting. I never knew this. I will have to test it out :).

The other day I turned my automatic headlights on, and both the inside non HID, halogen lights were on along with the outer HID projector lamps. I switched it to the forced headlight setting, and only the standard HID projectors were on :dunno:.

Under certain conditions, both inside halogens are on. I know backing up is one condition, not sure what the others are.
