full m5 exhaust installed on my 550xi
here are some quick pics. i'll post more after a wash
one pic had the new tips vs the old smaller tips to show the difference. used the full m5 exhaust all the way up to the downpipes (which they had to modify to fit). even the guys at the shop were surprised on how mean this thing sounds. 100x's better sounding with no drone at all. I'll try to get sound clips by the end of the week. http://f10.5post.com/forums/attachme...1&d=1358903258 http://f10.5post.com/forums/attachme...1&d=1358903258 http://f10.5post.com/forums/attachme...1&d=1358903258 quick vid of the car warming up this morning. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2Pe0f5VL-g phone recording when inside the car. Some cruising and some acceleration. cops were out so didn't want to press my luck  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tm2oKYgsYmc |

m5 exhaust
ok here we go, looks like you changed out the rear diffuser, yes, no. what mods did installers have to make to the vehicle and or the exhaust system. i am wanting to do something similar with my 2013, 550i xdrive. looks and sounds gr8888888888888t!!!!!!!!

I know about the diffuser needing to be changed but very interested on other modifications that had to be done to make it work let us know? I am doing this the second I can find a M5 exhaust were did you find yours?
Also was told most of the other pipe is the same except for the mufflers. Nice Job well worth it. |
That sounds great, nicely done! Where did you get the work done? I'm thinking of further modding my setup and could use a shop recommendation.
|
That sounds absolutely incredible. I think it sounds better on the 550 than on the M5!. Well done.
|
Now thats how a BMW should sound like, music to my ears :)
|
Sound good. Left tips are crooked (both in photo and video), though.
|
Looks sick, how much for the change?
|
Damn sweet. I had planned on getting the 550 diffuser and just installing quad tips which I like the quad tip look much better. I always thought about the m5 diffuser instead which is painted the same color as the car. I feel it makes the rear look more aggressive than a diffuser painted another color which makes the rear just look to small and less aggressive. The did the m5 diffuser install pretty simple or you had to have some work done to it?

sweet! I live right over the border in PA and am strongly thinking about giving those guys a call to get this done. If there is anyone else in the area that is interested, perhaps we get a group going?
Is a new diffuser necessary? |

That sounds GREAT! I've been debating on getting the Dinan performance exhaust on my 550, but I have no idea what it sounds like. I wonder if it's similar to yours. The price sure isn't :)
|
I may be in the market to sell my stock exhaust.
