IPod interface kit and iPhone 5
 

I've had the BMW iPod interface kit installed in my e53 2006 3.0i a few years ago for $1150AUD (outrageous price!), but now, as is typical of Apple, the iPhone 5 comes with a new connection, smaller than all previous phones.

Anyone know if an adaptor lead exists, one that can convert the old connection to the new iPhone 5 connection, which means of course that if this is possible, I will be able to play music through an iPhone 5 when I get it with my mobile phone contact renewal in April?

I will be pissed off if I need to buy a new iPod interface kit from BMW, just so that it connects to iPhone 5!

The Apple old-to-new adapter is supposed to work but it's a bit expensive. Mixed feedback on the cheaper e-bay ones; some charge, some don't; some transfer audio, some don't; some transfer control, some don't.

It sounds typical of iPhone connectivity issues doesn't it? Thanks for the info. I want charge and I want music through the BMW kit, and hopefully some?expensive adaptor will give me that?
