Self Level Inactive Warning

Ive got a 2003 D sport had it to the main dealers to be looked at everythings come back fine they gave the suspension a full bill of health, BMW said there nothing wrong with it but the self level inactive warning keeps comming back on, how do I reset it myself without having BMW charge me again. any ideas, Ive replace fuses in the boot. Ive been driving it and there is no signs of leaks ride height is as it should be just need to get this warning off as its doing my head in now

Buy yourself a scanner that can read the fault code and clear the code with the scanner. Only other alternative is to bring it in and pay to have it done.

You can get them on eBay, do a search for BMW scanner, INPA

You may also want to create a signature that includes your model/model year/ build date and in a case like this...provide which suspension option you have...ECH I or ECH II?

This helps us to help you better...by providing enough details about your X...helps us to make better informed suggestions...as well as helping those that may need to look up diagrams and other info that is specific to a particular model or build date range or optional feature. :)

You may want to check your level sensors/ride height sensors for any cracks. Perhaps they were overlooked initially because they appear to be intact. But if you're getting warnings...then something is wrong and another deeper look is required.

For instance, the 2 air suspensions available on the e53...the single rear axle set-up...and the dual front/rear axle set-up can be seen below:
