Insurance/Extended warranty?
Consensus seems to be the extended warranty is a no brainer if you plan to keep car 4 years or more. Any counterarguments? Is ext-warranty available at a discount?
What is the most reliable and affordable insurance for a BMW in So Cal. Progressive seems most affordable but I hear they hassle you over which shops, etc, which may be BS. What's you experience? Thanks! |

We are almost to the end of the warranty based on miles. My wife drives an 80 mile daily commute and as a result our 2011 528 has almost 45000 miles, we bought the car on Jan 2011. it is my understanding that BMW warranty will expire at 48K miles. My question is how much should I expect to pay for an extended warranty? Do these warranties usually include scheduled maintenance service as well? I want to educate myself before I contact the dealer for quotes.

The extended warranty won't cover maintenance. Best to call many dealers and discuss with them...you'll get a good idea what they are like. Specifically ask for the warranty sold by BMW (not some other 3rd party company or the dealership itself). They also sell extended maintenance. Again, I have no idea what they cost these days. I had bought both for my car but that was about 7 or 8 years ago. |
