USB Integration with CCC iDrive Question

1 Attachment(s)
I have been searching the web but can't seem to find a clear answer to my question, hence the new thread:

I have a 2009 X5 with the older iDrive and the USB audio interface option. I also have the Technology package. I have a USB port in the center console but don't have (or can't find) a USB port in the glove box. Is there a way to import music on a USB stick to iDrive?

I can play music from a USB stick but have not been able to import music to iDrive. I am confused because according to the owners manual this should be possible (please see attached).

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure why the manual says "The information of up to 4 USB devices or for a total of approx. 16000 tracks can be stored in the vehicle". I checked a 2008 owners manual as well just for curiosity and the same info appears there as well. I am not sure what they mean by that :dunno:

It just means that the names (catalogue) of tracks can be stored, so that it doesn't take a long time to read the USB.
