Resetting Oil Change Readout

I just change oil in my 2003 Z-4 and have forgotten how to reset my computer for next oil change. I'd appreciate some help. Thanks.

Z4 2003-2006 Press and hold left hand button between gauges. Turn ignition switch to the "ON" position. Keep holding button until "OIL SERVICE" or "INSPECTION" is displayed. Release button. Press and hold button again until "RESET?" is displayed. Press and hold button again for at least 3 seconds. Turn ignition off.

Peake makes a great little fault reader/reset tool. price was 95$ when i got mine but the first time you use it and do not have to go to the stealership it pays for itself.

OK, just had my oil change, put in 7 quarts (well, 6.9) as per instruction. Went to reset my oil change, and now when I start the car and check the oil, it says 15,500 to next oil change, but the word INSPECTION shows now in the display. Also it only shows the electronic dipstick at half-full. Do I need to just drive around some more? The manual says only 6.9 quarts of oil to fill it.

Any help? Suggestions? Bueller? Bueller?

Last oil change I put in the correct amount. The electronic oil gauge showed down by 1 increment. I drove the car for a couple of days and the gauge changed to showing full and has been showing that for the past month. If you know you put the correct amount in you have two choices, add a bit more until the gauge reads full or don't sweat it and just make a mental note of where the "full" reading is.

If you put the proper amount of oil in the engine, you DO NOT add more oil to make the electronic gauge show full.

Always give it a couple of days of driving. Also when you check it drive at least 6-7 miles. If you added the correct oil requirements do NOT add any more oil!
