Does the new seat memory module need to be programmed?
The seat in my wife's 2003 BMW X5 4.4 cannot save the position and the steer wheel doesn't move. I checked the fuse, it is fine. I searched online, it seems most likely the memory module is gone.
I just order a new replacement seat memory module (part#61317119867) from dealer. My question is 1) is this a plug and play parts or a part need to be programmed by a dealer; 2) do I need to disconnect power to replace it?
Any input is welcome. Thanks in advance!
I have a 2003 X5 3.0i and had to replace mine for the same issues you were having. It was plug n play. Just had to redo the memory buttons with both sets of keys before it would keep my settings. I had a used one though not a new out of box. It works fine now with over 40k miles on it.
get the new module in. Let me try it out in the next week.
