How do I track my production order?
I am trading my 2011 X5 50 M-Sport for a new 2014 X3 35 M-Sport. For several weeks the BMW site would not recognize my production number. Today, it recognized it for the first time but would not allow me to "add" the vehicle to my account. It wanted delivery date and mileage as though I had already taken delivery of the vehicle.

Is there a way to track my order to learn when it will be produced, etc.? Also, the brochure states that you can watch a video of your vehicle being manufactured. I assume that most of this is generic BS, and not really much about my specific vehicle being built but I would like to look at it anyway. Can anyone tell me how to view this?

Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.

Use today's date as the delivery date.

However, the tracking info on the web is notoriously delayed and sometimes even wrong. I don't think anyone with a 2014 has seen a production video yet, most folks seem to say it appears on the web after they have received delivery!

Call your dealer and get both a production number and a VIN. Call BMW Customer Service. Use the automated phone system to get a production status or ask a customer service representative to look it up for you. You'll need the VIN or production number with either approach.

Question on this as well... I see my car on the bmw web site as in production. However, I've seen some people on here report at what exact stage of production their car is in. For example I saw someone on here that they were in the paint stage.

The phone line only states that its in production with a completion date of 4/15

In my Case, The automated system message changed from (150, 152, 155) --> in production --> in body shop --> in paint shop --> waiting to be released to carrier --> released to carrier to at port of something (even though I am taking a PCD).

Your CA will have the most up to date information when he runs the Vehicle Inquiry Report and he can see the detail section.

Hope this helps
