Bad nav screen
I have a 2006 x5. Does anyone know what the model # is for the nav screen. Need new one. Thanks

Did the screen go out or did you just lose sync or colors? If so, first check the ribbon cable connection inside the unit. I have had this problem a couple of times. I lost the color blue a few years ago and thought it was a bad screen. Turned out I just needed to clean the contacts on that ribbon cable. Then the screen would lose sync sometimes and I cleaned the contacts again but this time with a professional contact cleaner and preservative. No problems the last couple of years. You can search the forum for the DIY if you are comfortable doing it. You must remove the head unit and then just take the top cover off, access to this ribbon cable is right there. It is a spring clip, pull the ribbon out, clean the contacts and reinsert. That's it.
