Advice on leasing? X3 28i Msport

i received an offer for 0 down, 615/mo, 15k miles, 36mo on a 2014 x3 28i m sport for 43k. supposedly includes all fees/taxes - i have to write a $615 check on the first visit and can drive away. it was a dealer loaner and has 10k miles on it, but comes with the full warranty. does that sound right? any opinions on whether loaners=trouble?

whats included:
ZMP M Sport Package
ZPP Premium Package
ZDA Driver Assistance Package
ZTP Technology Package

I think you mean a X3 28i, a 328i is a sedan. Anyhow, for that kind of money, you can lease a new X3 and not a demo. The whole idea of leasing is to have a new car every 2 or 3 years.

thanks for the correction and the reply!
well what i'm told is that the original MSRP is $53,425 b/c of all the packages, discounted to $43,300.
is it the value or the lease #s that look off?

Hard to tell without knowing what LRF was used, residual, etc.

Seems very high to me.

I leased a 2014 X3 Msport 35 with MSRP of 59K for 689 a month for 3 years/12K...

i was told the residual value was 28709.
and you paid no down either? can you recommend your dealer?

No down payments only first month, acquisition fee and the like. Keep in mind I had loyalty of 500, ult drive event of 1,000 and turn key of 500. Base rate factor of .00125

I've been with BMW since 1998 so has influence.

Car sold to me basically at invoice before incentives. Cap cost was about 7% of MSRP

I used BMW of Newton in NJ. CA was a dope but all I needed was someone to input numbers. Old CA moved on so this was the guy I was handed. Didn't care, don't really need him for anything.

Sounds awful expensive for a Demo - to compare a similar situation, I remember my 2011 335d demo that had 12K miles - MSRP was 53K and cap cost was $39K with only first month, tax, and DMV fees. Monthly was $499 / month.

As another poster said, what you are paying you should be getting a new X3.

My new X5 diesel I just picked up last month, is $625 / month so I think $615 is way too high IMO.

Similar deal for me except we bought ours(x28i X3). $39k, 11K miles on it and had just about every option imaginable on it except the collision avoidance.

thanks all for keeping me from 36mo of regret.
the dealer is now saying, give me a reasonable offer. is a cap cost of $39500, a base rate factor of 0.00125, and 15K miles a decent start? any thoughts on a decent residual?

two things that seemed odd:
1. he said the ultimate driving event would have given a higher residual.
2. how can he give me 15k/36mo, if we're already starting at 10K. that'll put me 5K over the 50K warranty limit - am i out of luck or is he covering the 5k?

Residual statement is bs. Residuals are set monthly. What he may mean is that if you did this desk while driving event credit applicable residual would be better. I can tell you residual in sept was 54% for 3 years 15 k and believe it improved slightly in October

I would run from this deal

That would be a fair deal if the dealer agree to it, but I would not go any higher on a dealer demo. Dont forget to ask the dealer about the $750 Holiday Credit, it applies to loaner cars as well. On your last point, I do not believe a BMW loaner car can be certify, the dealer would have to buy the extended warranty for you to extend out to the end of the lease. I would make sure its a BMW warranty and not some fly by night insurance company.

Good Luck

he said that he couldn't go below 43k. regardless if i do this deal- do the calculations below look right?
in general, what fees and how much of each fee should i expect?
thanks again for all the advice. for those on the e coast, drive safe.

cap cost reduction (loyalty) 1250 (500 loyalty+750 holiday)

found a different deal for a 2014 x3 35i loaner 6k miles for $48,900 (msport, tech, premium, cold weather packages). what's a reasonable cap cost?

bimmercloud 12-14-2013 05:16 AM

i just wanted to say a big thank you to all who replied to the post.
drove off the lot last night with a new 2014 x3 35i black sapphire/black nevada m sport dhp w/tech, cold weather, drivers assist, high beam, rear window shades for $605/mo, 0 down, 15k.

the dealer offered the BMW tire/rim protection package, which was pricey but can be cancelled. is ithis or another 3rd party protection worth it? i live in the urban NE (trans. pothole central).

Not a bad deal for a loaner. Post some pics!
