02 330ci After Accedent

I bought a 2002 330ci. It was in a minor front hit. The driver side airbag deployed and now the car won't start. The dash lights work and some of the electical in the car works but it will not turn over. I contacted the dealer and he told me the main ground wire from the trunk had to be replaced at a cost of $1,300.00. Does anyone have any thoughts on this matter. If I could get it started it would make fixing it a whole lot easier.
Thank you for your help.
Scott

Have the car towed to one of your Insurance companies recommended repair shops. :dunno:

Doesn't the fuel flow automatically get shut off in a crash (along with the doors unlocking and the hazard lights flashing)? Could this be the issue? Maybe there is some electrical cut off to the ignition as well to also prevent sparks/fire.

There's a small explosive device that separates the starter solenoid from the starter motor in the event of a collision.

I did some more reserch and it looks like there is a battery Safety Terminal(BST) That is located at the battery and disconects the power to the starter. It does not appear to cut off the fuel and it looks like it can be temp reconected to get the car going. If anyone has any more insight please let me know all the help is greatly appreciated.

Here's a start:

There is a note a little ways down about the BST in the E46. Don't know if that affects anything.
