Couple questions (Vanos solenoid, brake fluid, transmission)

My dads car (pre LCI, N52 530xi) is at 220,000 miles.

1. It recently went into limp home mode, I pulled up the codes and it was for the Vanos solenoids (intake and exhaust) does this sound right?...

Not always. I bought my car a year ago, and probably have 11,200 into it including tax. If I didn't "upgrade" parts it would be a lot cheaper.

I thought side light meant angel eyes. Warning I could be wrong though

Edit I'm like 100% sure that your angel eyes burnt out it's a small halogen bulb
