The OEM to BMW is GKN Loebro, that's the only brand I'll use. Beware of the Chinese reman stuff; some people have had good results, others are replacing axles again in 10k miles.

Oh, and while the intake manifold is removed, it would be worthwhile to replace the CVV/crank vent valve and the hoses; they are no fun to replace with the intake in-situ.

The pipe not connected to anything on either end is likely the vent link for the transfer case. It exists the transfer case and ends up somewhere near #5/#6 cylinder.

Lean codes often indicate an airleak. Have a close look at the MAF and the rubber boots between it and the throttle body, especially the lower boot and the little bellows to the idle control valve.
