As pointed out above this is the wrong temp...

As pointed out above this is the wrong temp sensor, I would appreciate if you edited this post to remove misleading info for the next guy or gal.

Temp gauge troubles

To start I have an early build date 528 with an m52b28 motor.

Symptoms: car starts up under test 7 and as I see the coolant warming it reverts to a much lower impossible temp.

Help. Radiator fan

I use a lock ring wrench as a holder, you should be able to find these at any bike shop.

As for the big wrench 1 1/4" is 31.75mm these tools don't hold tolerances that tight.

Fan clutches are around a hundred bucks, hoods are a lot more, just replace the sucker. You will need either a 32mm or 1 1/4" wrench thats fairly long, and something to hold the water pump pulley. ...

My cluster always shows the positive + symbol when temps are above zero, sounds like your pixels being out is throwing you off.

I just repaired my sensor, the actual plug for the sensor went bad...

That's very strange, never heard of one of these sensors behaving like this before. I would disconnect my battery and see if it fixes itself once you reconnect it.

I would advise against cheap generic sensors. It's a crapshoot if they are manufactured with tight enough tolerances to even function, why pay twice?

Thanks blue, but almost all of that info is for m54/m52TU not a plain ole m52b28. I just ordered my part from eac it was 24 + expedited shipping still less then local dealers.
