It's up to you, I would just change them as they are not that expensive and will save you having to pull crap out...

Hmm not sure, doesn't sound too bad to me. Maybe take of the belt again and spin all pulleys with your hand to see if anything with that sound is coming from anywhere.

E90's require no tools, they are not locked in like other cars, when you take the nut of they will just slide out, or may require a light tap with a hammer.

Mine were this bad by 90,000 miles. So I sure as hell didn't buy sachs ones again. My mums w202 c-class had 186,000 mills on the original Bilsteins and still had good rebound.
